The 'Easy on Me' songstress credits her English teacher Miss McDonald for inspiring her when she was young, gushing that 'she was so bloody cool' and 'so relatable.'

AceShowbiz - While treating her fans to her smooth voice, Adele received a sweet surprise during her recent U.K. concert that was filmed for ITV. In a clip of "An Audience With Adele" which was recorded in London, England earlier this month, the British singer had a touching reunion with her former English teacher.

The clip began with Emma Thompson, who sat in the audience, asking Adele if the songstress had someone who supported, inspired, or protected her "from all the trials and tribulations of life" when she was younger. "Yeah, I had a teacher at Chestnut Grove who taught me English," the 33-year-old singer responded. "That was Miss McDonald."

Emma asked again, "Did you ever keep in touch?" Adele said she hadn't seen the teacher since she was 12 before she started praising her. "She was so bloody cool," she gushed. "So engaging. She really made us care and we knew that she cared about us. …and so relatable and likeable that I really looked forward to my English lessons."

"Yeah, cause it's odd, actually, funny enough…," Thompson said, trailing off, seemingly aware of what was going to happen next. Sensing something, Adele looked to the audience and asked "Is she here? Is Miss McDonald here?"

Miss McDonald emerged from the crowd and walked onto the stage as Adele looked genuinely surprised and moved by the unexpected reunion. "Hi! You look amazing darling!" the Grammy-winning artist told the teacher while holding back tears.

The two shared a hug onstage, during which Miss McDonald told Adele, "I'm so proud of you." When the "Hello" singer said through tears, "I didn't know you were coming," her former teacher replied, "That's OK, it was supposed to be a surprise."

"Thank you for remembering me," McDonald sweetly told her former student, to which Adele responded, "No, you really did change my life." She then turned to the audience and said, "Mum, can you believe it?"

Before McDonald returned to her seat, the "My Little Love" singer asked if she could have her phone number. She added, "I've still got my books you know! I've got all my books from when you were my teacher."

Adele then took a five-minute break to fix her makeup. She asked Alan Carr a favor to fill in for her while she got a retouch. The comedian then sang a part of Adele's hit "To Make You Feel My Love", prompting the audience, which included Emma Watson, Dua Lipa and Idris Elba, to erupt in laughter.

In other news, Spotify has agreed to remove the shuffle button when users listen to her new album because she said it would ruin the flow of the songs.
