A casting call for the roles of Liam Gallagher and Take That members in 'Better Man' has been released, and it is noted that 'singing ability is a bonus but not essential.'

AceShowbiz - Robbie Williams isn't casting singers for his biopic. Actors are recruited to play Liam Gallagher and Take That in the Brit's forthcoming movie "Better Man" but, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper, vocal talent isn't necessary.

Robbie is playing himself in the movie, but a casting call for the other roles reveals "singing ability is a bonus but not essential," the outlet reports. The film will shoot in Australia - where director Michael Gracey is based.

"Robbie's biopic is going to be filmed in Australia because that is where the director Michael Gracey is based," a source explained. "And because of COVID and the lockdowns there, it was decided it is best to film everything there."

"A casting call has gone out for actors to play Liam, Gary, Jason, Howard and Mark. Although none of them have to be able to sing, they've been told they need to have good Manchester accents and look like the lads back in the Nineties."

Gracey previously revealed that the movie came about after hours of conversations with Robbie although he remained tight-lipped on how the singer would be represented on the big screen. He said earlier this year (2021), "As for how we represent Robbie in the film, that bit is top secret. I want to do this in a really original way."

"I remember going to the cinema as a kid and there were films that blew me away and made me say as I sat there in the cinema, 'I've never seen this before.' I just want the audience to have that feeling... It's this fantastical story, and I want to represent it in its harsh reality all the way to these moments of pure fantasy."
