AceShowbiz - Issa Rae might tie the knot with Louis Diame secretly, but she didn't mind giving fans a look at their nuptials. In a new interview, the "Insecure" star and co-creator explained why she decided to share her wedding pictures on Instagram.

"You know, honestly, I was supposed to do this in 2020. And then, you know, things were different at that time," the 36-year-old said during her appearance on the "Tamron Hall Show" about the intimate ceremony. "And I worked with Vera Wang, who were really great, and they wanted to post the photo and at the time, I was like, 'OK, yeah, no problem.' "

"And then later, you know, I was like, 'Oh, they're gonna post the photo before me.' Let me tell it my way, in the best way I know how and that's the only reason that I let it go," the actress/producer further shared. "I wanted to release the photo my way first without having them release it."

Issa then gushed about her wedding day, calling it "a beautiful experience." She went on to explain, "People tell you that it goes by fast, and they're right. But my thing was, it was a party. At the end of the day, it was just a big party. And it was a lot of fun."

"I feel so blessed to be surrounded by people who took the time out to just come and celebrate," the Emmy nominee continued. "And that's something that I'll cherish for the rest of my life."

Issa and Louis, who were engaged for more than two years, got married in July in the South of France in front of friends and family. When unleashing her wedding pictures, she penned, "A) Impromptu photo shoot in a custom @verawang dress. B) My girls came to help me, but they all coincidentally had on the same dress! They were sooooo embarrassed. C) Then I took a few flicks with Somebody's Husband."
