The 'Mystic River' actor is seen rocking his wedding band when visiting his friend in Los Angeles a day after his wife filed divorce papers to end their one year of marriage.

AceShowbiz - Sean Penn is still wearing his wedding ring after being hit with divorce papers. The "Mystic River" actor was spotted rocking his band one day after his wife Leila George filed the legal documents to the court to end their 15-month marriage.

In photos obtained by Page Six, the 61-year-old actor was photographed wearing a ring on that finger when he stepped out in Malibu, California on Saturday, October 16. The "I Am Sam" star was spotted having a lunch meeting with a man at Ollo restaurant.

After finishing their meal, Sean and his friend continued chatting outside the restaurant as the actor took a smoke break. For the outing, he sported a black T-shirt, black leather jacket, faded blue jeans and a pair of white sneakers

Sean's public outing came after his Australian actress wife, Leila, filed to legally end their union in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday, October 15. The details of the divorce case, including the reason for the split, remain undisclosed.

The divorce news came following reports claiming that Sean had to "win back" Leila, with whom he's been in an on-off relationship since 2016. Things continued that way for several years until the last time they went their separate ways, which prompted the "Flag Day" star to "work hard" on fixing their romance.

A source spilled in August 2020, "Leila has been in Sean's life for a while. They got together and then they broke up and Sean won her back." The so-called inside source went on to add, "[Sean] realized he had made a mistake and when he felt he might lose her, he worked hard to get her back."

The couple isolated together amid the coronavirus pandemic and it was alleged lockdown helped strengthen their relationship. The insider added, "They got back together during COVID and became really close and got engaged a few months ago, early during quarantine."

Sean and Leila tied the knot in July 2020, during an intimate ceremony. A month later, "The Gunman" actor, who was previously married to Madonna, confirmed during his appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" that he and Leila were married.

"We did a COVID wedding," Sean said. He then added, "By that I mean it was a county commissioner on Zoom and we were at the house, my two children and her brother. And we did it that way."
