The Cookie depicter on 'Ned's Declassified', however, wishes that his former co-star would have dealt with the criticism in a lighthearted way instead of choosing the 'crying route.'

AceShowbiz - Daniel Curtis Lee believed that Lindsey Shaw didn't do anything wrong. After his former "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide" co-star sparked backlash for seemingly mocking black creators on TikTok, the Cookie depicter on the Nickelodeon sitcom said her video was not "racist."

The 30-year-old offered his two cents when speaking to TMZ. "She said nine words in the video and none of them were racist. So if you want to go to just the evidence of the brass tacks of what was said, she didn't say anything racist," he claimed.

"I know a lot of people feel as though her responses to some comments were a little bit saucy," the comedian went on explaining. "But you know, I didn't see anything racist, I can't say that."

Daniel revealed that Lindsey reached out to him after she was dragged by online critics. Although he gave her some advice about how to handle the trolls, she allegedly chose the wrong approach instead. "I told her that... if she's going to respond to the negative comments claiming that she's racist, she's got to do something lighthearted," he first elaborated.

"But she didn't take my advice," he stated. "She went the crying route, people feel like that's weaponizing tears and things like that. So you know, it's just like a P.R. Nightmare there. It was rough... People smell blood in the water and it's time to eat. They're ready to feast because there's already momentum behind protecting black creators, especially the TikTok sphere, gen z's there."

Lindsey came under fire after she posted a video of black men on TikTok while they were performing a dance. "Hey, are we OK? What the f**k is this?" she argued in the since-deleted clip. She, however, praised her former co-star Devon Werkheiser when he performed the same dance.

After catching the heat, the "Pretty Little Liars" alum pleaded with the haters to stop sending cruel comments on her DM. "I just have to say right now that the hate in my inbox is not okay. I did not mean anything in any kind of way. I am learning every day, as I think everybody is. And this kind of hate just needs to evaporate from the planet, no matter who it's directed towards. Crocodile tears? No, dude - this is like my soul out there. If you know anything about what I stand for or what I believe in, you know that it's not this," she said while sobbing.

"I am sorry you were offended," she apologized. "I think we all need to vibrate higher for the future, and I know I'm going to keep learning. For my own mental health, I needed to take a step back from social media anyway. But I'm not here to offend or belittle anybody. At all. I thought that the millennial and Gen Z thing was a thing on TikTok. The intention wasn't that serious, y'all. I gotta just go off of here for a little while. But I appreciate you, I love you, and I'll be back."
