The former 'Real Housewife of Orange County' star, who came out as a lesbian in December 2020, claims that he and husband Sean Burke currently 'need a break.'

AceShowbiz - Braunwyn Windham-Burke has decided to temporarily separate from her husband. "The Real Housewives of Orange County" alum, who has been married to Sean Burke for 26 years, announced that they will "take a few months apart."

The 23-year-old broke the news during a joint Instagram Live on Monday, July 12. "We are packing up this house, the one we filmed in last year, and we are moving," she first spilled. "He is moving into a furnished rental for a few months and I am taking the kids to Hawaii for a while. We have decided jointly that we are going to take a few months apart."

Sean then chimed in, "We're going to see what that's like, living apart for a little while." Braunwyn went on to claim that their decision is "really healthy" for their seven children. "What we are doing right now is really healthy for them. I am taking my kids for six or seven weeks and when they come back, they will have a place at their father's," she explained.

"What we would like to do is when this is over, get a house that the kids stay in and then we might go [back and forth]," the former reality star continued. "We haven't decided if, after this little experiment of having a few months apart, if we are gonna come back together and live together as friends and family, or if we're going to just keep the kids in the house and we'll come in and out."

The mother of seven further emphasized, "We need a break. We need some space right now... We made the decision that taking some time apart is a good choice." Despite the temporary separation, she made it clear there's nothing but love between the two. "We love each other. We are family, we are friends," she pointed out.

The news arrived seven months after Braunwyn made an honest confession about her sexuality. "I like women. I'm gay. I'm a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. I'm a lesbian," she told GLAAD in December 2020. "It has taken me 42 years to say that but I am so proud of where I am right now. I'm so happy where I am. To be able to be comfortable in my own skin after so long is just so nice."

Despite no longer sleeping in the same bed, Braunwyn informed that she and Sean "plan on staying married." She added, "We're in the same house, raising the kids together. He's my best friend."
