27-year-old ballgown designer Kataluna Enriquez, who amasses over 35,000 followers on Instagram, makes history after defeating 21 other women and earning the coveted title.

AceShowbiz - Miss Nevada USA has crowned its winner at the South Point hotel-casino in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 27. For the first time in the pageant's history, the title went to a transgender woman.
Prior to winning Miss Nevada USA, Kataluna Enriquez was first crowned Miss Silver State USA. The 27-year-old ballgown designer amassed over 35,000 followers on Instagram. In her profile, Kataluna showed how she's proud of being herself as she called herself "transproud" and added hashtag #BEVISIBLE.
"To my pageant mommy @rissrose2 , no words can describe how much I am grateful of you. For your constant support, for welcoming me in to your home, and feeding me nothing but love," Kataluna shared on Instagram after being named as Miss Nevada USA, defeating 21 other women. "Team @misssilverstate, you are all inspiring. your love, support and sisterhood has healed many years of struggle. My times and giggles with y'all never be replaceable."
She also thanked "all the sponsors," penning, "Thank you. I couldn't have done it without your help. Huge thank you to everyone who supported me from day one." Kataluna also paid tribute to the LGBT+ community as she wrote, "My community, you are always in my heart. My win is our win. We just made history. Happy pride."
The official Instagram account of Miss Nevada USA also congratulated Kataluna for winning the title. "Congratulations to our new Miss Nevada USA @mskataluna History made!" the account wrote in the caption alongside a picture of Kataluna and former Miss USA as well as current pageant director, Shanna Moakler.
Kataluna is no stranger to winning pageant. She was the California representative in Transnation Queen USA and won the title on October 22nd, 2016 in Los Angeles. She was also among the Top 12 at Miss International Queen 2018 in addition to representing Hayward at Miss California USA in 2020.
Born in San Leandro, California, Kataluna graduated from San Leandro High School in 2011 before enrolling in the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Las Vegas, here she studied fashion design. She then launched her own fashion brand Kataluna Kouture in 2016.
Kataluna is set to compete for the Miss USA title in November.
