AceShowbiz - K-pop superstars BLACKPINK are heading to the screen with their own movie.
The "Ice Cream" singers will celebrate their fifth anniversary with the special project, which is thought to revolve around "The Show", the livestream concert they staged in January (21).
A trailer for the film has been released on social media, with the caption reading, "BLACKPINK THE MOVIE Coming Soon August 2021."
It won't be the first screen project for BLACKPINK - they released a Netflix documentary, "Light Up the Sky", in October (20). That release took fans behind the scenes and into the recording studio, and also chronicled their preparations for their 2019 performance at the Coachella music and arts festival in California.
BLACKPINK consist of four members Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa. They made their debut in 2016 with "Square One". They have since broken multiple records with their music.
In 2019, the group made history as the first K-Pop girl group to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The girls also enlisted Cardi B for "Bet You Wanna", one of their tracks in "The Album".
"We grew up listening to a wide variety of music. We all grew up in different areas, but I would say some of the amazing people we collaborated with we all grew up listening to and we are big fans of them," Rose said.
