AceShowbiz - K-pop sensation BLACKPINK has officially returned with their highly anticipated mini-album Deadline, marking their first collection of songs in four years.
The group, consisting of Lisa, Rosé, Jennie, and Jisoo, last released an album with Born Pink, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Now, Deadline offers five new tracks, including the lead single "Jump," which debuted last summer and climbed to No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Other songs on the mini-album are "Go," "Me and My," "Champion," and "Fxxxboy," providing fans, known as BLINKs, with fresh content after a lengthy wait.
Before reuniting for this release, the members spent time focusing on solo projects. Lisa, Rosé, and Jennie each dropped solo albums titled Alter Ego, Rosie, and Ruby respectively, while Jisoo released her EP Amortage.
In addition to music, some members explored acting roles. Lisa made her acting debut in White Lotus, Jennie appeared in The Idol, and Jisoo is set to star in Netflix’s upcoming series Boyfriend on Demand.
Despite their individual successes, all four members expressed how much they missed collaborating together. In a January 2025 Billboard cover story, Jennie shared, "I've missed doing tours with them. I miss our silly moments." She also emphasized their excitement to share their individual growth collectively, promising the group's return would showcase the most powerful versions of themselves yet.
Following a massive stadium tour last year, BLACKPINK’s reunion for Deadline marks a significant moment for fans eagerly awaiting new music from the iconic girl group.
Listeners can now stream BLACKPINK’s new mini-album Deadline, experiencing their fresh sound after a four-year hiatus.
