AceShowbiz - Reese Witherspoon apparently has approved her daughter's relationship with her boyfriend. After Ava Phillippe shared on social media a picture of herself with her beau Owen Mahoney, "The Morning Show" actress couldn't help but gush over the young couple.
On Monday, the 21-year-old beauty took to Instagram to post a selfie of herself and Owen taken from the Avenue Bridge in Austin, Texas, a spot known for its nightly bat flights. She captioned it, "The bats were feeling shy…so here's a pic of us instead."
The snap has since caught the attention of her famous mom Reese. The Madeline Martha Mackenzie depicter on "Big Little Lies" raved in the comment section, "[Love heart eyes emoji] These two."
Reese Witherspoon gushed over daughter Ava Phillippe and her boyfriend Owen Mahoney.
Ava first introduced Owen to the public in June 2019. At that time, she put out a since-deleted photo of the two on Instagram. Her online devotees have since gone wild after noticing that he has a slight resemblance to her father Ryan Phillippe.
One fan in particular exclaimed, "He looks exactly like her dad." Another sent similar sentiment, saying, "He looks like a younger version of your dad. Wow." A third echoed, "Is it just me or does her new beau have a little bit of Ryan in him?"
Aside from Ava, Reese has two other children. She is a mother of 17-year-old Deacon, whom she shares with Ryan, and 8-year-old Tennessee with husband Jim Toth.
Earlier in this month, Reese opened up about her close relationship with Ava and Deacon. When sitting down with Tracee Ellis Ross for Interview's Summer 2021 cover story, she said, "That makes me want to cry, the idea of having a long relationship with adult children."
"I never expected the kind of relationship that I have with them, but it's so rewarding to be able to have kids that you can process life with a little bit, and they help me understand the complexities of what it means to be a human now," she added. "So I'm really, really grateful that these little humans are in my life. Adult humans. I have two adult children now, Tracee. It's crazy."
