AceShowbiz - Nicki Minaj is among those who are enraged by the death of George Floyd at the hands of four Minneapolis police officers. The Trinidadian rapper took to her Instagram account to share her disappointment after it was revealed that only Derek Chauvin was charged for the murder.
"When 4 black THUGS commit a crime, if 1 person commits murder, they ALL get charged & CONVICTED," she wrote on Monday, June 1. "When white THUGS/COPS KILL innocent black people, ALL 4 of them are responsible‼️‼️‼️"
Referring to Thomas Lane, J.A. Kueng and Tou Thoa, the "Anaconda" artist went on saying in her impassioned post, "They all watched an unarmed man die and did nothing‼️ Why do they have different rules?????"
"Let your voice be heard. Be angry. White people have been using violence against us since the beginning of time. We didn't invent violence & looting. Will these officers actually get convicted? Probably not. Let your voice be heard. Call & TEXT to be a part of these petitions. May Mr. Floyd Rest In Peace," she said.
Nicki's post arrived after George's cause of death was finally made public as it was revealed that he died from "asphyxiation from sustained pressure" on May 25. In a graphic video that circulated online, former Officer Derek Chauvin could be seen pressing George's neck with his knee while other officers stood by and did nothing.
Chauvin was arrested on May 29 and charged with third degree murder and manslaughter. People are not satisfied with that, prompting them to trend #RAISETHEDEGREE on social media.
