The 'I'm the Only One' singer has canceled her Concerts From Home Facebook Live show, initially set for Wednesday , May 13 evening, following the passing of Beckett.

AceShowbiz - Melissa Etheridge is in mourning. On Wednesday afternoon, May 13, the team for the "I'm the Only One" singer broke the heartbreaking news that Beckett, her 21-year-old son with ex-partner Julie Cypher, has died.

"We're sad to inform you that Melissa's son Beckett passed away and there will not be a Concerts From Home show today," a note on the 58-year-old rocker's official Twitter page read. No further details have been shared on the passing of Beckett.

Words of condolences have since poured in from celebrities and fans alike. Actress Rosanna Arquette tweeted, "Oh my God oh my God no. Prayers and love to Melissa Rest In Peace dear Beckett." Rich Eisen of "The Rich Eisen Show" has also reached out via Twitter to say, "My condolences to you and your whole family, Melissa!"

Former "Star Trek" star George Takei offered more words of sympathy by writing in his tweet, "My heart is heavy for Melissa Etheridge, whose son Beckett Cypher has died at the young age of 21. Nothing is harder than a parent losing their child. We are with you, Melissa." Meanwhile, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" executive producer Andy Lassner simply wrote, "My god. This is unfathomably heartbreaking."

Some of her fans have also expressed their sadness over the news. "Melissa, Linda, Bailey, Johnny Rose and Miller, #EtheridgeNation is holding you all so tight. Our hearts are broken for you. Our deepest condolences to you and all who are hurting at this time," one wrote, while another tweeted, "OMG! Nooo, I am so sorry. My heart, our prayers to Melissa and your whole family. If there is anything that we can do to we are all here for you."

Melissa and Julie, who split in 2000, had Beckett in 1998 through artificial insemination. Together, they also has a daughter named Bailey Jean, while Melissa also has 13-year-old twins Johnnie Rose and Miller Steven from her relationship with ex Tammy Lynn Michaels.

When speaking about motherhood in an interview with Parents.com, Melissa said, "There's nothing like taking the responsibility or creating the responsibility of bringing a human being into this world and helping it in its first years." She added, "It doesn't matter the equation that gets you there or what you are to that person. It doesn't matter at all. It is the bond between you and the child."
