Sara Bareilles, Jessie Mueller, Keala Settle and Kimiko Glenn help raise funds to cover the comatose 'Rock of Ages' actor's medical expenses by singing his 2018 hit in a four-minute YouTube video.

AceShowbiz - Nick Cordero's former "Waitress" castmates collaborated virtually on a moving rendition of his 2018 hit "Live Your Life" to help raise funds to cover the comatose star's medical expenses.

The "Rock of Ages" actor has been fighting for his life in a Los Angeles hospital intensive care unit since last month, when he was initially thought to be suffering from pneumonia.

He tested negative at the time for COVID-19, but as his condition worsened, Cordero was found to have actually contracted the virus, and ended up having his right leg amputated last weekend (April 18) after experiencing blood flow issues.

He has since had a pacemaker fitted to his heart, adding to a rapidly increasing medical bill and, in an effort to ease the strain on his family, stars including Kimiko Glenn, Jessie Mueller, Sara Bareilles and Keala Settle performed the 41-year-old's tune in a four-minute "The Show Must Go On Show" video, shared on YouTube.

Many of Nick's pals held up supportive signs with the hashtag #WakeUpNick, after he spent almost a month in the medically induced coma.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe crowdfunding page also raising funds to cover the couple's medical bill has topped $440,000 (£353,716) thanks to donations from fans. Donations can be made here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-amanda-kloots-nick-cordero-amp-elvis.

Nick's wife, Amanda Kloots, has been sharing updates on her husband's condition on Instagram, writing over the weekend (April 25-26), "He is recovering well and doing really well with the pacemaker, so that's good... His heart rate has been under control. If everything goes well this weekend - basically if today and tomorrow are nice, easy rest days for him - on Monday they're gonna put a (tracheostomy) in, take the ventilator out, which will just make him more comfortable, which is really great."
