The 'Climax' singer sends love and prayers to his relative in Chattanooga, Tennessee after natural disaster ravaged several southern states over the Easter weekend.

AceShowbiz - Usher is sending prayers to his cousin after her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee was damaged by a tornado.

Several southern states were hit by twisters over the Easter weekend, with at least two dying, 20 people hospitalised and more than 150 structures damaged or destroyed in Chattanooga and the surrounding Hamilton County.

Usher, who grew up in the city, revealed on Twitter that his cousin, Toy, was one of those affected - and sent his prayers to her and all others impacted by the extreme weather.

"Toy ... is my cousin in Chatt. Her house was damaged in the tornado that hit," the "U-Turn" hitmaker tweeted on Tuesday. "Keep ya head up love. #this2shallpass."

"My prayers go out to Chattanooga ... to all those who are working hard to keep their spirits up. Love you Toy."

The tornado strikes have been doubly tough on residents of Chattanooga and other affected cities in the South of the U.S. as family members have been unable to visit those hospitalised due to lockdown measures brought in to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
