The former reality TV star, who was previously engaged to Lauren Bushnell, previously shared that he would definitely propose to his girlfriend in 2020 and it would happen before they moved in together.

AceShowbiz - In the midst of coronavirus lockdown, Ben Higgins is hearing the wedding bells. The Season 20 star of "The Bachelor" popped the question to his girlfriend Jessica Clarke one year after making their relationship Instagram official.

Sharing the happy news was Jessica herself. Making use of Instagram on Saturday, March 28, the bride-to-be posted a series of photos documenting the special moment. "I don't remember everything you said, but I know that I said yes," she wrote in an accompanying caption. "I woke up in a dream today and I get to live in this dream every day from now on (eeeep)."

Ben, on the other hand, spilled details about how the pandemic forced him to alter his proposal plans. Revealing that he and his now-fiancee have been quarantining together with his family, he said he had to forgo his plan to get down on one knee in New York City. "I went back to a pond behind her house, and we had set it up with sunflowers near a bench," he shared in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"It's right in their backyard, but a little hidden," the co-founder of Generous Coffee continued to dish on his Franklin, Tennessee proposal. "I proposed and her family and mine were watching from a distance, and then we all celebrated together."

"I was super nervous. She's my best friend, my partner and I love her. I was nervous to kind of do this whole thing in front of her," he gushed. "I wasn't anxious, it's just a big moment!"

Ben further revealed that the two of them, who first found romance through Instagram's DM, were overwhelmed by emotion when they reached the proposal spot. "She said it was one of two things: either I was ending our relationship, which would have been a huge shock... or I was proposing," he recounted.

Jessica additionally explained that she wouldn't change a single thing from Ben's Friday, March 27, proposal. "This is exactly how I would have wanted it to be," she confessed. "Central Park would have been magical and special in its own way."

"But it's really cool that we just got to be together last night and not really have to talk to anyone else but my family. It was great. It was perfect. I couldn't imagine it a better way," she said before exclaiming, "This ring's never coming off!"
