The star, who was best known for playing Margaret, assistant to Ed O'Neill's character Jay in sitcom "Modern Family", passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020, director Jeff Greenberg confirmed.

"So sad to hear that my long time friend, Marsha Kramer passed away yesterday at the age of 74," he tweeted. "She was so delightful in the 14 eps she shot as Margaret on Modern Family over the last 7 yrs, but I'll always remember her soaring aloft as Wendy to Sandy Duncan's Peter Pan. #RIP."

Marsha played Wendy in "Peter Pan" back in 1975 on Broadway, alongside Sandy Duncan in the title role.

Kramer's other television credits include a recurring role on "Frasier", as well as stints on "NCIS", "Dr. Ken", "Eagleheart", "Days of Our Lives", "Out of Order", and "Malcolm in the Middle".

The actress last appeared in Wednesday's episode of "Modern Family", which saw Margaret come out of retirement to work very briefly for Jay's daughter Alex - played by Ariel Winter.

A cause of death has not been announced.
