The 72-year-old rocker doesn't believe in global warming and climate change and claims that the 16-year-old Swedish environmental activist has been 'brainwashed.'

AceShowbiz - Meat Loaf's daughter Amanda Aday has "applauded" activist Greta Thunberg for standing up to the rocker, after he controversially claimed the teen had been "brainwashed into thinking there is climate change" when there isn't.

The "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" singer hit headlines when he told British newspaper The Daily Mail in a recent interview that he believes the 16-year-old environmental champion is misguided in her campaign to save the earth.

"I feel for that Greta," he said. "She has been brainwashed into thinking that there is climate change and there isn't. She hasn't done anything wrong but she's been forced into thinking that what she is saying is true."

Greta then responded by tweeting that the focus should be on the "scientific facts" of climate change - a stance Amanda respects.

Sharing Greta's Twitter response to her dad on her Facebook page, Amanda wrote, "I don't always agree with my father, as most people don't always agree with their parents. I applaud Greta Thunberg's response to his criticism. #RiseAbove."

When one of Amanda's Facebook friends questioned why Meat Loaf criticised Greta in the first place, she replied, "The reporter baited him for his opinion of her. His response was twisted a bit and Dad didn't have all the facts. But ultimately he doesn't believe in climate change."
