The retired basketball player and his actress wife have previously defended his son Zion against backlash about his apparent transition and feminine appearance.

AceShowbiz - Many are praising Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union for being open his son's sexuality and support for him despite backlash, but Tyrese Gibson isn't among them. However, his issue apparently doesn't lie in the couple's unwavering support for Zion. Instead, he's not down with the couple sharing their son's sexuality with the world.
Tyrese didn't name names in his since-deleted Instagram post, but he made it clear that he referred to the power couple after one follower mentioned them in the comment section. In the post itself, the "2 Fast 2 Furious" star shared his opinion on having children who are still exploring their sexuality, "If they are younger than 18 years old... in my opinion 'posting' about it makes what they are trying to figure out about their personal lifestyle choice all about YOU... Not THEM anymore..."
He continued, "Posting about your [underage child] as they're trying to explore and figure their lives out makes their moment more about YOU than your child... If I was under 18 trying to figure my sexuality out this is not for public consumption... Please don't try and seek 'likes' and validation on my back... -Concerned parent."
Neither Dwyane nor Gabrielle has responded to Tyrese.
Zion was criticized by a lot of people when Gabrielle shared a family picture showing him sporting long pointy acrylic nails which were painted white. However, Dwyane has since defended his son's apparent transition and praised his for expressing his sexuality at such young age. "First of all, if you want to talk about strength and courage, my 12-year-old has way more than I have," he said in an interview.
He added, "You can learn something from your kids. In my household, man, that's all we talk about. We talk about making sure our kids are seen by each of us, me and my wife. We talk about making sure our kids understand the power in their voice."
