AceShowbiz - Jungkook's trouble with the law continues. It has been confirmed that the youngest member of Bangtan Boys a.k.a. BTS has been booked on charges over his involvement in a minor car accident in late last month.
Through a representative, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station stated on Friday, November 8 local time that Jungkook was charged for violating traffic law and violating the Act on Special Cases of Traffic Accidents. A source from the authorities further explained, "He was booked due to confirmation of the taxi driver receiving harm. Settlement is a personal matter and is not related [with the police investigation]."
Because of this, the South Korean heartthrob is expected to be summoned for investigations, but the date has not been set.
As previously reported, the accident happened on October 31 at around 4 A.M. KST, when Jungkook drove his car in the neighborhood of Hannam in Yongsan District before he violated a traffic regulation and ran into a taxi. Both the "Love Yourself" hitmaker and the taxi driver received treatment at the hospital for minor injuries including bruises.
His label, Big Hit Entertainment, then issued a statement after the incident, apologizing to the taxi driver for what the artist had caused. The company also stated that the two had reached a settlement agreement and were not seriously injured.
While Jungkook and the taxi driver settled their problems amicably, it appeared social media users were upset because the star made a post about him playing video games after the accident. "For him to casually post on SNS after the accident shows that he has no remorse for causing the accident in the first place," one person said. "I got goosebumps the way he posted video games footage like nothing happened. Is this his way of reflecting?"
"That was really careless of him," another wrote, as someone else commented, "More than anything I'm so disappointed that he chose to do that. He tried to brush it off like it was nothing..." There was also one who said, "Now that he's made enough money he's doing whatever he wants."
