The 'Come and Get It' singer admits to Ryan Seacrest in a radio interview that it took her a long time to move on from the ex-boyfriend who inspired her new single.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez got candid in an interview with Ryan Seacrest as she talked about the inspirations behind her new single "Lose You to Love Me". She was believed to talk about her on/off relationship with Justin Bieber when she sang, "In two months you replaced us like it was easy."

When the host said moving on was indeed a lot harder than going through the breakup itself, the former Disney darling agreed, "Yeah, I think you know." She added, "I'm really grateful too because I've actually experienced that a million times before."

"So it's all very real to me," she went on, "and I'm sure it's just entertainment for other people, but I just think I had become numb to it, and it would be stupid of me if I didn't acknowledge what I had felt because it would be inauthentic, and that's everything I claim to be and do."

Although she didn't mention Justin's name, it's been widely rumored that the Canadian star had countless hookups during their on/off relationship that started in late 2010. He was linked to the likes of Miranda Kerr and Sofia Richie over the years.

Selena who wrote the song a year ago explained why she waited a long time to release it, "It took me a long time to get through it." She quickly added, "But now it's fun! Like, I'm smiling! It's so great." She claimed, "I feel completely different from when I wrote it. … It's such an interesting feeling."

"It's also more beautiful for me because I know exactly where I was when I wrote it and how I felt," she also said. "It's everything from happy and emotional to just realizing it and being frustrated. I just wanted to validate all those feelings because they were really real to me."
