The Mysterio of 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' has become a real-life hero as he rescues a terrified pet who got stranded at a busy intersection in New York.

AceShowbiz - Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly turned dog whisperer last week, when he rescued a scared Dalmatian from a busy New York intersection.

The actor, who is currently starring in "Sea Wall/A Life on Broadway" was chatting to a friend when he spotted the huge hound, which had run into the road after breaking free from a handler.

According to Page Six sources, the actor stopped traffic in Tribeca, calmed the dog down and led him back to his worried owner.

"I saw him turn and look into the street," an eyewitness tells the outlet. "I thought he was trying to flag down a cab or something. He really was a hero."

Gyllenhaal knows his way around dogs - he owns several.
