The former One Direction member gets applauded on social media after leaving a sweet message to his online followers that might be struggling with mental health issues.

AceShowbiz - Harry Styles highlighted the importance of mental health by encouraging a follower to book in for a therapy session before splashing out on tickets for his shows.

The former One Direction singer has been teasing fans about his comeback for the past week, and treated them to his first new music in two years when he dropped the single "Lights Up" at the stroke of midnight on Friday, October 11.

The day before the release, he shared a sultry snap from the track's music video on Instagram, with one fan writing: "I guess therapy can wait... HS2 and tour can't."

However, in line with Thursday's World Mental Health Day initiative, the Sign of the Times hitmaker told the devotee nothing is more important than health and happiness, responding: "Go to therapy, it's important. I'll wait for you. #WorldMentalHealth."

The star's fans supported his heartfelt comment, with one writing: "This tweet is so important, thank you for making a statement that our mental health should come first over everything."

"Name a better idol than Harry, I'll wait," another penned.

"Lights Up" is the first tune to be taken from Harry's as-yet-untitled second solo album, which he has been working on since November 2018. His close friend, Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks, previously described his sophomore solo collection as "spectacular."
