AceShowbiz - Adele is officially ending her marriage to Simon Konecki. The British singer/songwriter has filed for divorce from her husband of two years, five months after announcing their separation. She filed the documents at a Los Angeles court house on Thursday, September 12, multiple outlets report.

The Grammy Award-winning artist announced her split from Simon in April after seven years together. "Adele and her partner have separated," her rep said in a statement at the time. "They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment."

The exes have a child together, a son named Angelo, whom they welcomed on October 19, 2012. The former pair sparked rumors that they had secretly married in early 2017, and Adele confirmed in March of the same year that they indeed had tied the knot months before. They led a quiet life as they spent time between her native London and Beverly Hills, where they bought a home in 2016.

A source previously told E! News that a shift in lifestyles led to the then-couple's split. "She became a bigger and bigger star, and he was okay [with] being in the background, but as she got bigger and had massive tours and intense schedules, they just grew apart," the source explained.

Another source told Us Weekly, "Their relationship evolved and they became more like friends than lovers." The pair also "realized the romantic love was no longer there" and that they were "disappointed" that it "didn't work out."

The two have reportedly quickly moved on, with Adele being reported dating a bearded mystery man. The Sun additionally claimed that Simon contacted his ex-wife, stylist Clary Collicutt, on Christmas. A source told the site, "Clary was shocked to get a message from Konecki wishing her a merry Christmas, especially because the news he had split from Adele wasn’t out there, but now it all makes sense."

Adele and Simon have no prenuptial agreement, so he could land as much as $90 million from their divorce.
