Report: Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy Going Through Rough Patch Due to College Scandal

Multiple sources report that the couple, who has been married for since 1997, has been arguing a lot since the scandal hit the web earlier this month.

AceShowbiz - Felicity Huffman's involvement in the headline-making college admissions scandal is apparently taking a toll on her marriage to William H. Macy. Multiple reports suggest that the couple has been arguing a lot ever since the scandal hit the web earlier this month.

"This situation has been very trying on Felicity and William's marriage. They love each other but they've been arguing a lot," a source tells to Entertainment Tonight. "Felicity and William have an incredibly strong marriage but this situation has put a tremendous amount of pressure on them."

The insider continues, "Their close friends were stunned by the news because they've always seemed like honest, good people, people who would never lie and cheat to get what they wanted. They almost seemed to pride themselves on their honesty."

Another source shares to Us Weekly that the couple's "biggest" concern is "Felicity's criminal case and how this is impacting their daughter." Their 18-year-old daughter Sofia allegedly "had no knowledge of the actions taken in regards to the improvement in her SAT test score," according to the inside source.

Felicity was among the 50 people indicted by federal authorities in Boston, Massachusetts as part of the U.S. wide college admissions cheating scam. The former "Desperate Housewives" star was arrested last Tuesday and appeared in court on charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. She was released on a $250,000 bond. William, meanwhile, was not charged.

A source previously revealed that William was "heartbroken" and had "been in tears" following the ordeal, while his wife never "knew this would become so serious." The source said that she had not "fully grasped the extent" of her crimes or "the possibility of prison time."

Besides Felicity, Lori Loughlin was also involved in the case after she and her husband were accused of paying $500,000 to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California as part of the school's crew team, even though neither is a rower.
