'Aquaman' Sequel May Introduce Another Team of Heroes, The Others
Movie

Rumor has it that the follow-up to the 2018 film starring Jason Momoa will feature a mysterious group of heroes which members wield legendary Atlantean artifacts.

AceShowbiz - Aquaman may team up with another group of heroes in "Aquaman 2". After Warner Bros. Pictures announced a release date for the sequel, report emerges that the upcoming movie will feature new characters from the DC comic books, The Others.

Starting the rumor is The Aquaverse, which claims that it correctly revealed which major characters that would appear in the first movie. The Aquaverse's Twitter account points out its old tweet which read, "We've been told that 2018's AQUAMAN starring Jason Momoa will also feature Mera, Orm, Black Manta and THE TRENCH!"

Boasting that it's going to repeat the similar unveil, the account then posts an image of The Others from the comics and simply writes along with it, "THE OTHERS #Aquaman2."

First introduced in the Geoff Johns run on the title, The Others is a mysterious group of heroes that Arthur Curry (Momoa) was once part of. The members are humans that discovered, and subsequently protect the Dead King's Atlantean Weapons.

They are Aquaman with the Trident, Ya'Wara with a Teleportation Globe, The Operative with The Key, Prisoner of War with the Atlantean Manacles, Vostok-X with the Atlantean Helm, Kahina the Seer with the Seal of Clarity, Sky Alchesay with Seal of Clarity, and Sayeh with the Seal of Clarity.

Aquaman was previously featured teaming up with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Cyborg in "Justice League". Since Ben Affleck has given up his Batman mantle, there's very little if no chance that this group of superheroes will appear in future DC-WB movie(s), though Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher are still attached to their respective roles.

Plot details of "Aquaman 2" are currently not available. James Wan is back to direct, with original writers David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall having been hired to pen the script. Besides Momoa, the likes of Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Dolph Lundgren are also expected to return to the second movie.

The upcoming sequel is set for a December 16, 2022 release in the United States.
