AceShowbiz - Sarah Hyland looked stunning while gracing the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party in a bright pink Zac Posen dress. The "Modern Family" actress, however, revealed that she went to great lengths to achieve the look, posting on Instagram that she had to wear two pairs of Spanx to look great at the star-studded soiree.
"I'm wearing TWO pairs of spanx," so the 28-year-old star wrote alongside a picture of her at the event. "Why diet? When you can just hide it!"
Her caption, however, sparked controversy among fans as some of them found the remarks "problematic." A critic slammed Sarah, writing in the comment section, "As a (thin) person with influence your caption is problematic. You're suggesting that women should either diet or hide. How about neither."
"Most ridiculous this I've ever heard. She doesn't even have an ounce of fat, she's just so annoying," another fan snarked. One other chimmed in, "Says the girl who is sickly skinny and has done multiple posts about not being able to gain weight. What are your intentions with this post? Wrong."
However, Sarah apparently was not trying to hide fat. The actress, who previously had a kidney transplant, wanted to hide the bump from the surgery. "If you’re trying to hide the bump from your transplant, forget it. I’ve been trying for years!! Stay healthy," a fan wrote, to which Sarah replied, "Someone gets it!!"

In another tweet, she went on writing, "When you have two kidney transplants and are on steroids for life get back to me."

Sarah is suffering from kidney dysplasia, which is "a condition in which the internal structures of one or both of a fetus' kidneys do not develop normally while in the womb." The ABC star underwent two kidney transplants, revealing she received her second from younger brother Ian Hyland in September 2017. The first transplant from dad Edward Hyland failed. Sarah also revealed she had 16 surgeries total in her lifetime in addition to battling endometriosis.
