The casting news of the 'Aquaman' star comes shortly after it was announced that Josh Brolin has signed on to star as Gurney Halleck in Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's novels.

AceShowbiz - "Aquaman" star Jason Momoa is switching the high seas for the space desert after joining the cast of Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" remake.

Momoa will team up with Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson (II), Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin for the latest adaptation of Frank Herbert's novels, which was written by Villeneuve.

Brolin joined the cast earlier this week and has been confirmed to tackle the role of Gurney Halleck, which was previously played by Sir Patrick Stewart in David Lynch's 1984 "Dune" movie adaptation.
