AceShowbiz - This year's Christmas won't feel the same for Bode Miller and his family following the death of Emmy, his and wife Morgan's daughter, in June. Despite the heartbreaking event, the family decides to spend this Christmas with smiles, while including their baby girl in celebration in the most beautiful way possible.

Taking to Instagram, the wife of the former Olympic skier posted a slew of family portraits on the holiday. In one photo, Bode, Morgan and their four children were posing in the woods while donning color-coordinated outfits. Their oldest daughter could be seen smiling at the camera while holding a white rose, which was seemingly a representation of Emmy.

Meanwhile, in another photo, the group of six traded the woods for a vast field. This time, they were joined by a huge portrait of Emmy which was held by Bode. The last photo centered on the adorable kids who flashed their brightest smiles.

"Merry Christmas to our baby girl in heaven. We miss you so much!" Morgan wrote in the caption. She then reflected on the year, writing, "2018 has been a year full of overwhelming sadness and overwhelming joy. We have spent half of the year mourning and attempting to heal the loss of our angel which feels like an impossible battle all while celebrating the birth of our son."

"Normally I would be looking forward to a 'fresh beginning' in 2019 but there is no more starting fresh after the loss of a child," she continued. "So here’s to a healthy 2019 full of personal growth and creating many memories with my babies, full of smiles and laughs. Wishing everyone a special holiday season surrounded by loved ones."

Emmy passed away at an Orange County, California hospital on Monday, June 11 after she was found floating in a pool at a neighbour's party. Bode and his wife, Morgan, were at the bash when their little girl fell in the pool.

A statement from her parents reads, "We are beyond devastated. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to its fullest everyday."
