The 'Bohemian Rhapsody' actor will also produce the thriller series that revolves around a radio DJ who tried to protect his family and community from an attack that destroy the power grid.

AceShowbiz - Rami Malek is lending his voice to a new eight-part thriller podcast.

The "Bohemian Rhapsody" actor will produce and star in "Blackout", which will centre on a radio disk jockey who has to protect his family and town following an attack that wipes out the power grid, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Blackout" was created by Scott Conroy, who will also produce the project for Endeavor Audio.

Meanwhile, Malek, who also stars in hit show "Mr. Robot", is enjoying success on the big screen after his Queen biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" became the highest-grossing music biopic in global history last week (ends December 14). The film chronicles the rise of iconic British band Queen and stars Malek as late frontman Freddie Mercury.

On the North American box office, the film has also beat out N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton", which grossed $161 million (£127.4 million) following its launch in 2015. "Straight Outta Compton" was also the global record holder with $202 million (£159.8 million), but Bohemian Rhapsody has now overtaken it with a worldwide take of over $600 million (£474.8 million) and counting.

Malek is also celebrating after earning double nominations for the 2019 Golden Globe Awards, with the film nominated in the Best Motion Picture - Drama category, while Malek has picked up a nod for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama.

It is also vying two prizes at the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards, where the film has earned an Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture nomination, and Malek will compete for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.
