The two 'Avengers: Infinity War' actors join the star-studded cast of the upcoming animated movie from 'Monsters University' director Dan Scanlon.

AceShowbiz - Chris Pratt and Tom Holland are set to team up for another feature film, after their brief encounter in "Avengers: Infinity War". The "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor and the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" star have been tapped to lend their voices to Disney-Pixar's animated movie "Onward".

Spilling the beans is none other than Holland himself. "I am so excited and I've been trying to keep this a secret for so long and I now just can't do it anymore," he said in an Instagram video posted on Wednesday, December 12. "I am lucky enough to be making a Pixar movie. It is called 'Onward'. It will be released in the theaters March 6th, 2020 and I'm so excited to be a part of this amazing journey."

The British actor went on teasing one of his castmates, letting people guess who his first co-star is with hints which include, "He has tangled with dinosaurs ... loves to play with Lego, and he and I may have already teamed up to fight a giant purple evil terrifying monster." Holland was clearly referring to Pratt, who has starred in "Jurassic World" and "The Lego Movie".

Besides Pratt and Holland, the movie will feature the voices of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer. Directed by "Monsters University" helmer Dan Scanlon, "Onward" is set in a suburban fantasy world and centers on two teenage elf brothers who embark on a quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.

"At Pixar we try to create stories that come from some kind of personal truth," Scanlon said in a statement. "This film was inspired by my own relationship with my brother." Scanlon previously also said at D23 that the film would be "a mix of the fantastic and the everyday," with "elves, sprites and pretty much anything that would be on the side of a van in the '70s."

He reteams with "Monsters University" producer Kori Rae, who will produce "Onward". Rae said of the cast, "Chris brings equal parts huge heart and fantastic humor to his character. [Spencer] can do it all. We're especially excited about the depth as well as humor that she brings to her character."

Scanlon gushed about Holland, saying that the 22-year-old "has an infectious charm and sincerity that makes you root for him in every character he plays." As for Louis-Dreyfus, he said, "There is no one funnier than Julia. But she also brings a warmth and loving side to her character."

Pratt's Star Lord and Holland's Peter Parker vanished at the end of "Avengers: Infinity War" along with other victims of Thanos' snap. The actors, however, will reprise their respective roles in their standalone films, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and "Spider-Man: Far From Home". It remains to be seen how their characters will be brought back in "Avengers: Endgame" which is scheduled to bow in U.S. theaters on April 26, 2019.
