AceShowbiz - Claudia Schiffer and husband Matthew Vaughn have received a warning from British police after their dog mauled a pregnant sheep.

The supermodel, 48, and her "Kingsman" filmmaker hubby, 47, have angered one of their neighbours in rural Northamptonshire, England, by failing to control their hound - who savaged the expecting ewe and injured two others last month.

Police officers were called to her farm as a dog, believed to be their German Shepherd Oscar, was found covered in blood having severely bitten the sheep, who had to be put down.

A police spokesperson told WENN: "Northamptonshire Police were called at about 11.30am on Wednesday, November 14, to reports of a dog worrying sheep in a field between Culworth and Eydon in South Northamptonshire. The dog was caught by the farmer after causing injury to three sheep. It was agreed by all parties that a Voluntary Control Order was the most appropriate resolution to the incident."

Under British law, Voluntary Control Orders impose penalties on dog owners for failing to control their animals or securing their property to ensure they cannot run amok. Locals told The Sun that police action will not be the end of the matter as lawyers for the couple are reportedly in negotiations to compensate the farmer for the loss of his livestock and $3,800 (£3,000) in vet fees from trauma caused to other animals.

One resident said the celebrity couple are just glad their dog will not be put down after the gruesome incident.

"The dog was retrieved by a member of the couple's staff," they explained. "Claudia was deeply concerned her dog would have to be put down. She and Matthew are mortified about being thought of as irresponsible dog owners."

The dog loving model has had three previous warnings to keep control of pets, twice in 2006, and she was questioned in 2010 after another biting incident at her mansion in Suffolk, England.
