Headlining the annual festival with Jay-Z, the songstress invites Ed Sheeran onstage to perform their hit collaboration 'Perfect' together.

AceShowbiz - Commemorating what would have been Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday, the 2018 Global Citizen Festival was held in Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday, December 2. The annual event featured performances from the likes of Usher, Pharrell Williams and Chris Martin, with Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z headlining the festival.
The power couple's performance at the event was so overwhelming that it even brought the audience to their feet. They give the crowd a taste of their recently-wrapped "On the Run II Tour", displaying her rap skill during a performance of "Apes**t." Rocking a tribal bodysuit and retro shades, she flawlessly delivered her verse while Jay supported her with backup vocals.

She later changed her ensemble into a flowing dark pink dress with plunging neckline, inviting Ed Sheeran to the stage to belt out their hit collaboration "Perfect". Accompanied solely by the British redhead's acoustic guitar, the musical duo showed off their gorgeous harmonization to thousand of concertgoers. Some were even captured on camera almost crying while watching the "Lemonade" singer sing.
Later on during the set, a group of choir joined Bey on the stage to perform a South African song. The songstress apparently enjoyed their performance so much that she even moved her body along with the beat.
Ahead of the festival, Bey penned an open letter addressed to Nelson Mandela, who died in 2013. "I first met you in 2004 at the 46664 AIDS Benefit Concert in Cape Town, and the impact you have had on my life resonates with today and every day," she wrote. "Your kindness and gratitude for every experience, and your ability to forgive are lessons I have learned and will pass on to my three children. My entire family holds you in high regard."
"It is an honor for me to travel to South Africa this week in celebration of you and your efforts to right so many wrongs," she continued. "You were a strategic warrior, a bold activist and charismatic and well-loved leader. Your vision for dignity, for human rights, for peace and a South Africa free of racism and apartheid, allows us all to turn dreams into reality."
