Nick Jonas recently shared how he proposed to his soon-to-be wife Priyanka Chopra in a new interview with Vogue, which will have the 36-year-old actress as its cover for January 2019 issue. Instead of getting an immediate "yes!" he hoped, the actor/singer was met with silence.
For the interview that was published ahead of their much-anticipated wedding, the couple shared their love story. Nick told the magz that he popped the question during a trip to Crete for Priyanka's birthday in July. The "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" actor said that he waited for midnight before getting down on one knee and proposing to the love of his life.
"I got down on one knee, again, and I said: Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?" Nick shared. "No joke--she took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence."
The "Quantico" alum, however, remained silent. That prompted Nick to go to the next plan, the ring. "I'm going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections," he told her.
The engaged couple is set to tie the knot anytime soon as the lovebirds have confirmed the news by kicking off the pre-wedding celebrations with a Puja ceremony. The ceremony took place at her mother's home in Mumbai.
Priyanka and Nick arrived at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India on Wednesday along with Nick's brothers Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas and their significant others, Sophie Turner and Danielle Jonas.
While many are expecting to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the upcoming nuptials, it is reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex won't be attending the wedding.
