When making an appearance at the Governors Awards, the 'Born This Way' hitmaker reveals that her home escaped the California wildfires, but parts of the property are 'still so smoky.'

AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa doesn't think she will be able to return to her Malibu home before Thanksgiving (November 22) due to damage from the wildfire.

The "Poker Face" singer was one of many celebrities who was evacuated from her home earlier this month due to the Woolsey fire. The evacuation orders have since been lifted in much of Malibu, but the singer told Variety at the Governors Awards on Sunday that she probably wouldn't be able to return home until after the American holiday.

She explained that her home was spared but the fire burned parts of her property, and said, "It's still so smoky. I'm not sure when we could go back. But I'm grateful. So grateful... I am so grateful for the firefighters who put them out."

The fire, which was 91 per cent contained as of Sunday, has destroyed approximately 1,400 structures in the Malibu, Agoura and Calabasas areas, including homes belonging to celebrities including Gerard Butler, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke.

"I feel so bad for everyone. People losing everything. I am going to do more, do what I can," GaGa told Variety.

The 32-year-old evacuated her home on November 10 and has been helping out her fellow evacuees by dropping by Red Cross shelters, posing for snaps and delivering pizza, coffee and gift cards.

"All we have is each other. Kindness makes the world go round," she wrote on social media as she documented her trips. "Thank you to the Red Cross for all you are doing to provide shelter, love and mental health support to the people of California."

On Saturday, she stopped by the Los Angeles County Fire Station 27 with her childhood friend, chef Bo O'Connor, and brought the firefighters meatballs and pasta and tried on their uniform.

At least 80 people have been killed in the California wildfires, which includes the Camp Fire, while 993 people are unaccounted for.
