Among the awards that the Cuban songstress receives at the event are Best Video and Best Song for her mega hit 'Havana'.

AceShowbiz - The 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards was held at the Bilbao Exhibition Center in Spain on Sunday, November 4, with Camila Cabello emerging as the biggest winner that night. The Cuban songstress, who was also the lead nominee, collected four trophies at the award-giving show.

Among the awards that she received at the show were Best Video and Best Song for his Young Thug-assisted mega hit "Havana". She additionally brought home Best U.S. Act and the biggest honor of the night, Best Artist. In her acceptance speech, Camila thanked her fans for throwing their support behind her.

Also taking home multiple awards at the Hailee Steinfeld-hosted event was Nicki Minaj. The female emcee proved her existence in the hip-hop industry once again as she was named the recipient for Best Hip-Hop Artist. Nicki additionally beat out the likes of Cardi B and Dua Lipa and snatched the coveted Best Look.

Though Cardi and Dua lost to the "Starship" raptress, they won Best New Artist and Best Pop Artist respectively.

Other big names who made it to the winner list were Shawn Mendes and BTS (Bangtan Boys). Shawn, who was the biggest winner at last year's event, notched Best Live Artist, while the seven-piece boyband won Biggest Fans thanks to their loyal fanbase ARMYs. BTS wasn't the only Korean act to won at MTV EMAs as Best Korean Act went to rookie girl group Loona.

Janet Jackson was honored with the special Global Icon Award. "I feel move to speak for women's voices who have been stifled," said Janet to the cheering crowd. "I am one of those women, women who have been gagged, both literally and emotionally, women who have been abused, women who have been intimidated, women who have lived in fear."

She continued her female empowerment speech, "Women, our voices will be heard, we will be heard. When we speak out for justice. Speak out for the spirit speak out for spirit that crosses all borders, recognizes the dignity of all people and affirms the beauty of all faiths."

Other winners at the event included Alessia Cara and Panic at the Disco.
