The 'American Crime Story' star recreates a viral photo which features a man, who bears a striking resemblance to his 'Friends' character, stealing beer from a restaurant in Blackpool, England.

AceShowbiz - Almost 15 years after he ended his days as Ross Geller on "Friends", David Schwimmer finds himself at the center of internet sensation because of his famous character for a different reason. A beer theft, who bears a striking resemblance to Ross, was caught stealing from a restaurant in Blackpool, England on Saturday, October 20.

After Blackpool police shared an image of the thief, it soon became viral with many identifying the man in question as Ross from "Friends". "Do you recognise this man? We want to speak to him in relation to a theft at a Blackpool restaurant on the 20th September," read a message posted along with the picture.

The comment section has been flooded with hilarious responses featuring references to the hit 1990s sitcom. "I don't think it's been this guy's day, his week, his month or even his year," one wrote, quoting lyrics of the show's theme song.

"The One Where Ross Became a Thief," another named the photo in the style of the show. "Please approach with caution. He is known to have studied Karate and we believe he has mastered the art of Unagi, the state of total awareness," read another comment.

The news also caught the ears of David himself, who has decided to respond with humor. Proving that it's not him who is in the photo, the 51-year-old actor/director spoofed the image by reenacting the crime. "Officers, I swear it wasn't me. As you can see, I was in New York. To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation," he wrote in the caption.

Blackpool police has cheekily responded to David's denial and people's comments, posting on Facebook again, "Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses. We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We're so sorry it has to be this way."
