AceShowbiz - As Halloween is approaching, Vanessa Hudgens is keen on playing a dress-up. The 29-year-old actress and singer has turned into Dutch exotic dancer Mata Hari in a new photo she shared on her Instagram account on Thursday, October 18.
The "Spring Breakers" star wore a bedazzled round bra and a slit skirt, complete with a large jewel necklace and matching headpiece to channel the courtesan, whose real name is Margaretha Geertruida Zelle. She flashed her taut tummy and toned leg in the black-and-white image.
"Her name is Mata Hari," she simply captioned it. Mata Hari was convicted of being a spy for Germany during World War I and executed by firing squad in France. She died in Paris in 1917 at age 41. Her life inspired a number of films, including 1927's German production "Mata Hari", 1931's Hollywood's film "Mata Hari" starring Greta Garbo as well as French-Italian film "Mata Hari, Agent H21" (1964).
She also posted a colorful version of the snap on her Instagram Story. It's unclear for what purpose Vanessa tried on the costume.
The Gabriella Montez in the "High School Musical" film series recently starred in Ken Marino's romantic comedy film "Dog Days". She will be seen in "Second Act" starring Jennifer Lopez. The former Disney star has also filmed Netflix's upcoming Christmas film "The Princess Switch" and "Polar", which will also be released on the streaming service in 2019.
Her singing career-wise, she has collaborated with former child star pals Phantoms for a new single titled "Lay With Me", which was released on September 28. The music video was released earlier this month, featuring Vanessa reprising her role as shy science and math wiz Gabriella Montez from the hit Disney series.
