The 'Bad Things' rapper insists that the feud was not a fight between the rapper's two home states, but one of past grievances.

AceShowbiz - Machine Gun Kelly has described his ongoing beef with Eminem as a "battle between the past and the future".

Eminem reignited the pair's long-running rap feud last week, begs August 27, after dropping his surprise album "Kamikaze", in which he took aim at the 28-year-old rapper for calling his daughter Hailie "hot as f**k" on social media in 2012.

Days later, Machine Gun Kelly, real name Richard Baker, hit back with a diss track entitled "Rap Devil", a play on Eminem's 2013 song "Rap God", mocking the 45-year-old over his age and relevancy in the music industry.

Publicly addressing the feud at a gig in Michigan on Thursday, September 06, where he was supporting veteran rockers Fall Out Boy, Kelly insisted the feud was not a fight between the rapper's two home states, but one of past grievances.

"This is not a battle between Michigan and Ohio," Kelly told the crowd at the Grand Rapids Van Andel Arena, according to NME. "This is a battle between the past and the f**king future."

"Knees weak of old age - the real Slim Shady can't stand up," he continued, launching into a live version of "Rap Devil".

Eminem initially attacked Kelly on his song "Not Alike", making it clear he was not over the events of 2012.

"And I'm talkin' to you/but you already know who the f**k you are, Kelly/I don't use sublims (subliminal messages) and sure as f**k don't sneak-diss/But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie," he rapped.

Hitting back, Kelly referenced Eminem's 2002 track "My Dad's Gone Crazy", in which a then-seven-year-old Hailie features, spitting: "Tough talk from a rapper paying millions for security a year/'I think my dad's gone crazy,' yeah Hailie you right/Dad's always mad cooped up in the studio yelling at the mic/You're sober and bored, huh? I know/About to be 46 years old, dog."

According to Billboard, a retaliation on Eminem's part is already in the works.
