AceShowbiz - Ben Affleck will always have his best pal Matt Damon's back. While the former is currently seeking treatment for his alcohol addiction, the 47-year-old continues to support his lifelong friend.
Matt "has and will always be there for Ben," according to an insider. The source continues telling PEOPLE, "They have been friends for years. Let's remember that they each have their own families and careers to deal with."
Another source adds that "The Martian" star has been involved in giving support for the Batman depicter since he checked into rehab on August 22.
"Matt has reached out with support to his dear friend. Matt told Ben that he supports his health one hundred and ten percent," another insider reveals to HollywoodLife.com. "He also let Ben know that he will do whatever he needs to help Ben get through this challenging time."
Matt "has a lot of love for his friend Ben and his heart goes out to him, his kids and his whole family," adds the source.
The recent rehab stint marks the third time for Ben, but Matt believes that his best friend will get back on his feet sober while the rehab is over. "Matt knows how strong Ben is and is confident that Ben will triumph, beat his demons, and get back to living and thriving again soon," says the source.
Ben entered rehab after his estranged wife Jennifer Garner staged an alleged intervention before driving the "Justice League" actor to The Canyon Treatment Center at Peace Park in Malibu, where a private room at the facility costs $130,000 for 30 days.
The 46-year-old is reportedly "serious" about his sobriety. "Ben really does want to be sober, his life becomes a mess when he falls off the wagon, but it's a difficult, and never ending battle. It took Ben years to accept the fact that he’s an alcoholic," a source previously shared.
