The two actors, who previously took the roles of husband and wife on 'AHS: Murder House', are set to return for the upcoming season.

AceShowbiz - "American Horror Story: Apocalypse" has added two alums to its cast. Connie Britton is set to reunite with Dylan McDermott, who was her co-star on "Murder House". The two actors will return for the eighth season of the FX series.

Britton previously portrayed Vivien Harmon in the first season of the series, while McDermott played Vivien's husband Dr. Ben. In "Murder House", the pair moved into a haunted mansion with their daughter Violet after Vivien had a miscarriage and Ben had an affair. After Britton finished with the first season, she did not appear in the following seasons of the series. McDermott, meanwhile, played another character on "Asylum".

Besides the two actors, "Apocalypse" stars Taissa Farmiga, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Stevie Nicks, Frances Conroy, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Cody Fern, Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman and Billie Lourd. The latest season also adds newcomers Billy Porter, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Kyle Allen to the cast.

"Apocalypse" story will be a crossover between "Murder House" and the series' third season, "Coven". The story will follow the ending of "Murder House", where Vivien died giving birth to an antichrist baby. It is still unknown whether Viviane will be back as a human or a ghost in the latest season.

Series co-creator Ryan Murphy previously shared the first look at the returning "Coven" witches in "Apocalypse". The picture saw Paulson, Nicks and Rabe on the set of the show. They stood at the end of the stairs, all wearing black outfits. "The Return. Cordelia, Stevie and Misty casting a bewitching spell," Murphy wrote in the caption.

While further details are kept under wraps, Eichner described the new season as "insane." The 39-year-old actor said, "I'm not allowed to say a word but...it's so insane. It's just so insane."

According to Porter, the writers of the series showed the "other side of an apocalypse." Porter shared, "I thought, because of 'The 100' and 'Apocalypse', that I knew everything about what life after an apocalypse would be-but Ryan Murphy and the writers of 'American Horror Story' have shown a whole other side of an apocalypse." She continued, "So, I think people will be surprised and intrigued, and yet again, I think, blown away by the performances that I'm seeing."

"AHS: Apocalypse" will premiere on September 12 on FX.
