Read the Drax depicter's sarcastic tweet following the studio's decision not to rehire the director for the third 'Guardians of the Galaxy' movie.

AceShowbiz - Dave Bautista has reacted to Disney's decision not to reinstate James Gunn for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3". On Friday, August 17, the actor sarcastically tweeted, "Thanks @Disney !! Making America great again! [American flag emoji]," along with a link to a news article which headline reads, "Disney Not Rehiring James Gunn is a Big Mistake for Marvel (And Beyond)."

Hours later, Bautista posted a link to the same article and wrote along with it, "I love this article so much I'm just going to tweet again. I'll probably tweet tomorrow as well. Just in case! Just want to make sure everyone gets a chance to read ii because its brilliant!"

Despite the "Guardians of the Galaxy" cast's open letter in which they declared their loyalty to Gunn and called for his reinstatement, Disney and Marvel stood by their decision not to rehire the filmmaker. According to Variety, the decision came following a meeting between Gunn and studio chairman Alan Horn.

Marvel president Kevin Feige, who was initially said trying to convince Disney to rehire Gunn, didn't attend the meeting because he was out of town. He now reportedly stands by Horn's decision not to reinstate Gunn.

Disney and Marvel will continue the search for a new director once Feige is back in town. Gunn had finished writing the script for the third installment and the studios will use his script. It's still unknown if Gunn's exit will affect the production date and the movie release schedule.

Gunn was fired by Disney as the director of "GOTG Vol. 3" after his old jokes between 2008 and 2011, in which he made light of rape and pedophilia, were unearthed by alt-right conspiracy theorist Mike Cernovich. Horn said in a statement on July 20 about Gunn's firing, "The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James' Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio's values, and we have severed our business relationship with him."

Gunn apologized for his offensive tweets. "Many people who have followed my career know when I started, I viewed myself as a provocateur, making movies and telling jokes that were outrageous and taboo," he explained at the time. "As I have discussed publicly many times, as I've developed as a person, so has my work and my humor. In the past, I have apologized for humor of mine that hurt people. I truly felt sorry and meant every word of my apologies."
