AceShowbiz - Prince Harry is now happily married to Meghan Markle, and it may be hard to imagine him with anyone else than the former "Suits". However, prior to dating the 37-year-old beauty, the British prince was in a longterm relationship with Chelsy Davy.
When the former couple were together, some might think that they would witness Davy walking the aisle with the prince. It didn't happen though, obviously, as they ended their romance in 2011 just after the wedding of Harry's brother Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29 that year.
According to "Harry: Conversations with the Prince" by Angela Levin, the nuptials, which was attended by Davy, was what brought their relationship to an end.
Express reports that Levin writes in the new biography, "A friend revealed that seeing the enormity and pomp of the day convinced Chelsy that she and Harry had been right to separate." It continues, "Although they had a lot in common, she saw clearly that because they came from such different worlds it could never have worked, especially as she valued her privacy and guarded it so carefully."
Harry and Davy had their final date in Africa during a secret private trip. They reportedly didn't get back together at the end, as Davy knew she didn't want to lead such a public life. Talking about the media attention she received while dating the Duke of Sussex, Davy told The Times, "It was so full-on: crazy and scary and uncomfortable. I found it very difficult when it was bad. I couldn’t cope. I was young, I was trying to be a normal kid, and it was horrible."
If Davy wanted to protect her privacy, it's safe to assume that she made the right decision. Even before their May 19 royal wedding, Prince Harry and Meghan had often found themselves in the global spotlight. Not to mention, the Duchess of Sussex is now facing family drama as her father Thomas Markle has been giving unauthorized interviews about her and the royal family.
