AceShowbiz - Los Angeles County District Attorney's officials are reportedly reviewing new sexual assault cases filed against Steven Seagal and Harvey Weinstein.

The Hollywood heavyweights have been accused of misconduct and assault by multiple women, and a police review of the accusations has now been passed to top city lawyers, who will decide whether to indict the men on criminal charges.

According to TMZ, Weinstein and Seagal are among the three cases given to the L.A. County District Attorney on Thursday, August 09 by Los Angeles Police Department investigators who conducted the probes. "Black-ish" actor Anthony Anderson's investigation is the third.

Anderson was investigated after an unnamed woman filed a police report earlier this year, claiming he assaulted her during a meeting about future business opportunities in 2017.

The 47 year old denied the claim via a representative, who wrote: "It's unfortunate that anyone can file a police report whether it is true or false. The authorities have not contacted Anthony or any of his representatives about this matter. Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim."

Close to 100 women have come forward with accusations of sexual assault against movie boss Harvey Weinstein since whistle blower articles in The New York Times and The New Yorker, detailing decades of bad behaviour, were published last year (October 2017). The Los Angeles D.A.'s Office is now reviewing six active cases to determine whether the disgraced producer can be charged with a crime.

Weinstein was indicted by New York prosecutors in May for charges of rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct against two women.

Meanwhile, Seagal has also faced multiple claims of sexual misconduct from high-profile Hollywood women, including actresses Portia de Rossi, Julianna Margulies, and Jenny McCarthy, who came forward with their stories as part of a wave of assault and harassment charges in the wake of the launch of the #MeToo movement.
