Stephen King was among those paying tribute to the author on Thursday.

AceShowbiz - Revered sci-fi writer Harlan Ellison has died, aged 83.
The award-winning "A Boy and His Dog" novelist also wrote short stories and screenplays for TV shows like "The Flying Nun", "Star Trek", and "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour".
His "The City on the Edge of Forever" is considered one of the finest "Star Trek" episodes, even though Ellison himself was no fan of the end result.
Ellison was also a creative consultant on 1980s shows "The Twilight Zone" and "Babylon 5".
Among his many literary awards were Edgar Allen Poe and Writers Guild of America trophies.
