AceShowbiz - Record bosses are nearing a settlement over the use of a Prince song in a proud mum's YouTube video of her dancing baby over 10 years ago.
Stephanie Lenz uploaded the 29-second clip in February, 2007, but it was pulled from the site after Universal Music Publishing officials claimed the recording of Let's Go Crazy infringed their copyright.
Lenz won an appeal to have the video reinstated on the grounds of fair use, as it had only been created for friends and family, and subsequently continued fighting Universal chiefs to keep it online, with the dispute rumbling on for more than a decade.
However, on Wednesday, June 06, lawyers for the two parties filed paperwork notifying the case judge that they had reached a settlement in principle, although the terms of the deal have not been made public, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Prince died in April, 2016.
