Titled 'Chapter 19', the season finale is written by series showrunner Noah Hawley and directed by Keith Gordon.

AceShowbiz - FX is expanding the second season of "Legion". The network has announced that there will be an additional episode for the current season, bringing the total episodes from 10 episodes to 11 episodes.

The Marvel-related series starring Dan Stevens is set to wrap up the sophomore season on June 12, when they will air its 11th episode that is simply titled "Chapter 19". The season finale is written by series showrunner Noah Hawley and directed by Keith Gordon.

The exciting news comes on the heels of the show's latest episode "Chapter 13". The episode saw the season reaching the midway point, in which "an uneasy reunion leads to a shocking truth."

Based on the Marvel Comics written by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, "Legion" tells about the story of David Haller (Stevens), a man who believed himself to be schizophrenic only to discover that he may actually be the most powerful mutant the world has ever seen. The son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier spends much of his life on psychiatric hospotal without ever realizing that his mind has been infected since childhood by the parasitic mutant Amahl Farouk, better known as the Shadow King.

David manages to get himself from Shadow King at the end of season 1. Now, the evil entity is taking over Oliver Bird (Jemaine Clement).

While the series is based on Marvel comics, Hawley previously explained that "Legion" is taking place in a different universe from the "X-Men" movies. "With the X-Men comics, there are a lot of alt universes, so that has allowed me some leeway," Hawley told Variety. "And obviously it's a sort of origin story for David, but none of the other characters that I've surrounded him with are from the comics. It’s sort of an invented world."

The series also stars Rachel Keller as Sydney "Syd" Barrett, Jeremie Harris as Ptonomy Wallace, Amber Midthunder as Kerry Loudermilk, Bill Irwin as Cary Loudermilk, Aubrey Plaza as Lenore "Lenny" Busker, Hamish Linklater as Clark Debussy, and Navid Negahban as Amahl Farouk a.k.a. Shadow King. The cast also includes Jean Smart, Amber Midthunder and Katie Aselton.

Season 2 of "Legion" airs on Tuesdays at 10 P.M. on FX.
