David F. Sandberg gets 'Shazam!' fans dissapointed by releasing a fake trailer for the upcoming movie, resulting in various comments, such as, 'STOP IT.'

AceShowbiz - DC's "Shazam!" director David F. Sandberg teases movie fans by releasing a "trailer" for April Fools. On Sunday, April 1, he posted on his Twitter account a video that seemed to be a trailer for the upcoming Warner Bros.' adaptation movie of DC superhero "Shazam!". He captioned it, "I'm just going to leave this here..."

In the video, the Warner Bros and DC logos appeared, then it was followed by a voiceover, which made the trailer seem real. However, after several seconds passed, a scene of 1970's "Shazam!" TV series starring Michael Gray appeared, replacing the previous atmosphere. In the video, Billy Batson, who could transform himself into Shazam by shouting the magic word "Shazam!", was in hot pursuit of a wild horse who ran off with a woman. The clip ended with the hero saving the day.

Realizing that they were trolled by the director, fans flooded the post with various kinds of comments, including, "YOU GOT ME," "don't play with my heart," "I was trolled" and "STOP IT OMG." However, there was one fan who did not fall into his trap. He wrote, "April fools and I didn't open it." There was also a fan who thought that the teaser was hilarious. She wrote, "Hahahahahaha what a great teaser!"

The upcoming DC's "Shazam!" is headlined by Zachary Levi, who plays Billy Batson. The film follows a 14-year-old boy named Billy Batson who is granted the power of six ancient heroes by a dying wizard. Upon shouting the magic word, he transformed into an adult superhero by a magic lightning bolt. However, obtaining such power in such early age does not spare him from the duty to battle the evil Doctor Sivana.

Along with Zachary who plays the adult superhero, Asher Angel plays Billy before transformation. Mark Strong plays the villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. Meanwhile, Ron Cephas Jones portrays ancient wizard Shazam. There are also Grace Fulton, Jack Dylan Grazer and more who will star in the movie.

The film production has begun about a month ago. David directs the pic based on the script coming from Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke. Meanwhile, Peter Safran serves as a producer.
