Kim Cattrall's brother has died, hours after she begged fans to help find him. The British-Canadian star confirmed the sad news on Sunday, February 4 on her social media accounts while sharing her photo with her late brother Chris Cattrall.

"It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall," she wrote on Instagram. "At this time we ask for privacy but we want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time."

Just hours before, Kim issued a plea asking fans for help to find her brother, who had been missing since January 30 in Canada. She posted on Instagram along with his picture, "MISSING! This is my brother Christopher Cattrall or Chris as we call him. He has been missing since Tuesday, January the 30th from his home in Lacombe, Alberta Canada. His keys, cell phone,& wallet left on the table and his front door unlocked. This is not like Chris. He he would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his 7 beloved dogs."

The 61-year-old actress shared descriptions of her brother, "Chris is 55 years old, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, blue eyes, short brown hair, goatee, average build & usually wearing a waist length hooded winter coat with black gloves, blue jeans and calf high black winter boots. Chris' cause of death wasn't immediately made public. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Chris was found deceased on his property and their investigation into his disappearance had concluded. Police said the death was not considered suspicious.

Kim's friends and fans have been flooding her Instagram post with messages of support. "All my love and prayers to your family," one wrote. Another added, "I am so sorry for your loss and wish him and all your family peace. xo."
