AceShowbiz - SHINee's Onew has broken his silence after his groupmate Jonghyun's sudden death. In the wake of Jonghyun's tragic passing, Onew uploaded a plain black image and wrote a message with encouraging words.
"It does not matter who you are or what you do. However, please remember one thing. There is one person somewhere who loves you more than you love yourself. I will also support you. I love you," he posted, seemingly addressed to those who are in pain and need support.
It marks his first Instagram post in five months. He has been laying low after being hit with sexual harassment allegation in August. His fans have been worrying about his condition after the latest turmoil.
"Onew oppa stay strong, stay health, we love you and we love shinee," a fan wrote in the comment section. Another similarly commented, "Stray strong, dear Onew, we love you very much. Shawols are your shield in any situation."
"You did well too oppa.. You did well in take good care of them.. Don't.. Pls don't ever blame yourself. You did your best to be a leader and indeed you're the best leader ever," another comment read. "[Our Jonghyun] will be so proud to have you as a leader , as a brother and as a friend.. You did well dear.. I love you too."
Girls' Generation's Seohyun also posted a touching farewell letter to Jonghyun on Instagram. "I was there to say goodbye on oppa's final road.. but I still can't believe this is the reality.. The oppa I saw from the side for more than 10 years was always bright and passionate and was an amazing person who gives happiness and laughter to others.. I admired how you sang your heart out with all your energy on stage and I loved your humane, warm side off stage.. I just always thought you are an amazing, strong person..," she wrote.
The singer/actress apologized for not noticing his pain. "I feel so stupid and regretful for only thinking that way..," she added. "Why wasn't I able to catch on to your feelings while I was a close colleague.. Why wasn't I able to be any strength to you.. You must've been struggling so much.. Just now I have realized that you've been resisting and living with an unimaginable pain.. I'm so sorry.. You really did well.. I pray that you no longer suffer in pain and rest in peace.. Jonghyun oppa who've always shined so bright, I'll remember you forever.."
Meanwhile, EXO and Taeyeon didn't forget the late singer at their concerts. During "EXO Planet #4 - The ElyXiOn in Japan" on December 22 in Fukuoka, EXO showed on the screen a message written in Japanese dedicated to their labelmate.
"Jonghyun sunbaenim, who always shined brightly on stage with music and performance filled with passion, has left our sides. It breaks our hearts and the reality of not being able to be together anymore is sad. True artist Jonghyun sunbaenim, we miss and love you so much. We will remember you forever," read the message.
On the same day, Taeyeon paid tribute to Jonghyun at her concert at Kyung Hee University in Seoul. "To my precious Jonghyun, who I wanted to embrace and pat on the back at least once more because we're so similar. The reality that we won't be able to see each other anymore makes me sad, and my heart is stunned," she shared in a message showed on the screen.
She continued, "I hope you all remember Jonghyun and his music, and I'll sing so that Jonghyun could hear my voice and not be lonely. I'd be thankful if we could give support together."
