Vanessa Hudgens recently made many fans wonder whether she's engaged to her beau Austin Butler. However, the former Disney darling took to Twitter on December 19 to clarify that she is not engaged to the California hunk.

"Guysss. I'm not engaged!" so she wrote, adding a facepalm and a hair flick emojis. "I posted a pic. Not to show off my ring that I happened to throw on that finger after a long day of filming but to show off my haircut. Lol."

Rumors of their engagement sparked after Vanessa posted on Instagram over the weekend two pictures of herself showing off new haircut and manicure. But it appeared that her followers were more excited about the ring that she sported on her ring finger. Many took to the comment section to ask whether she is engaged to her beau and even congratulated her for the possible engagement.

"AT LAST!! Seems like your boyfriend took the best decision ever.. to propose to you," one fan wrote. Another similarly congratulated her by saying that s/he "would have done that long time ago because women like you are pretty much one in a billion!!"

One other fan commented, adding a ring emoji, "Rings on the finger of the left hand. To get married? Lol," while another hoped that the ring "is an engagement ring on your hand. You and Austin are beyond cute together."

Vanessa and Austin started dating back in September 2011 and have been inseparable ever since. The "Spring Breakers" actress recently dished on the secret of their long-term relationship during an interview with PEOPLE, saying that "communication is the key. Always bring it up and just talk about it. Uncensor yourself and just be open."

Before dating the "Switched at Birth" star, Vanessa was linked to Zac Efron, whom she began dating in 2005 during the filming of "High School Musical". The pair later broke up in December 2010 after five years of dating.
